The District Court granted Bowles\u0027s motion, and gave him until February 27, 2004 to file his appeal. Bowles filed his appeal on February 26 - on time according to the court\u0027s deadline, but untimely according to Rule 4(a)(6).\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EThe U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit at first declined to dismiss Bowles\u0027s appeal.
